Healthy Hair diet
It's not a secret that beauty starts from inside. It means that our efforts to make hair glossy and healthy only with help of expensive masks and shampoos are useless. We need to feed it with vitamins and the best way to do it is to have a well-balanced diet.
1) First of all stay hydrated - it's vital to building the foundation for healthy hair. Drink plenty of water, juices, herbal and fruit teas with little or no caffeine. It's ideal to drink 1,5 litres of plain water a day, in addition to other fluids found in foods, soups and juices. Avoid food that make you feel thirsty and can contribute to dehydration such as spicy and salty foods.
2) Get plenty of calcium. It can promote hair growth and strengthen hair overall. Food sources: dairy, tofu, fish, nuts, brewer's yeast, beans, lentils and sesame seeds. Be careful: too much calcium can inhibit the absorption of zinc and iron.
3) Eat your protein. Our hair is made of protein - protein deficiency can cause a loss of hair color, and can also cause the hair to become brittle and prone to breakage. Food sources: chicken, beef.
4) Eat healthy fats - Essential omega-3 fatty acids are key for a healthy scalp. People who consume few essential omega-3 fatty acids can experience brittle, dry hair and eventually hair loss. Food source: fish, nuts and healthy fats like olive oil.
