I joined DU, at the time I was having a bit of a bad time in my life and was feeling very alone and very depressed about everything.

I found out about this site after getting an out of the blue e-mail in my inbox telling me that there was this new disability site so I thought I would go and have a quick nosy around it. I signed up and started to play with the site. I noticed it had a chat room so I thought I would brave it and go in there and see who was around........I haven't left since! I am there every night virtually unless I have something else that I have to do.

I have made some wonderful, terriffic friends in the chat room and have even met quite a few of the members either in organised meets or on a one-to-one level. Due to the support of these wonderful people. I am now full of the joys of life instead of being depressed all the time. I can't thank my dear friends for this enough as it has given me the courage to continue moving forward and being strong and doing the things I enjoy the most in life.

I also want to thank Dawn and David for providing such a wonderful place for us to meet people. Without you guys, I would still be the shadow of the person that I used to be or worse still might not still be alive today as I was getting that bad :(

As for what the future will bring me in DU who knows? I might even manage to meet the guy of my dreams and get some romance back into my life :). I think that is the only thing missing now!

So if you see a nutty person in the chat room who goes under the name Tiggies or Tiggs then please say hello! I will be happy to chat with you and bring you some of the joy that Disability United has brought to me :)
