We started talking in the main chat room around February 2005. After a while we started talking in private chat and found we had similar sense of humour and general interests etc. Not before long we exchanged phone numbers.

We first spoke to each other on the phone on 1st April 2005 (was this an April fool lol). We ended up talking for around 7 hours!!! We spoke every day for two weeks and finally arranged to meet on the 16th April, as we were getting on so well. Ray was living in Kent at the time and I was in Essex. Neither of us drove, due to our disabilities.

Ray meet me at my home and we got on well and arrange to meet a month later. We spoke every day, meet several times and when we was comfortable Ray stayed a week here and there and it gradually progressed from that. We spoke about Ray moving in and he did around a year later.

It will be two years in April that we have been together and we are very happy we both took that first step in meeting each other.

Ray is registered blind/partially sighted and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so my mobility is limited. We compliment each other i.e. I help him by seeing certain things and he helps me in my wheel chair (chariot)! i.e. Going to the shops and our local pub etc.

So we would both like to say a big thank you to Disabled United, because this was where it all started.

One day we would like to get married, so watch this space, that will be the next chapter ha ha.
